Authorizing users for a fiscal year

MKG uses an authorization model in which you set per user whether or not they have access to the data of an administration/fiscal year. You can set this access after creating a new fiscal year. In this manual you can read how to authorize users for a fiscal year.

After you have created a new fiscal year in MKG, you can authorize the users who must or may have access for the fiscal year and for this administration. This action is optional.

MKG uses an authorization model (access to the application) in which you set per user whether or not they have access to the data of an administration/fiscal year. This means that after creating a fiscal year, user access for this fiscal year must be set.

Setting the authorization for users also takes place in the module Administration maintenance. You can change the settings for authorization per administration/fiscal year via the Authorization administrations and fiscal years button.

The next screen shows how for a fictitious administration in our test environment the different users have been granted access for administration 001 and fiscal year 2024.

Protection against incorrect fiscal year usage

It may be important in year transition situations to block the old fiscal year for the average user after the year transition. This prevents you from working in the old fiscal year. For advanced users (those who really need to be able to log in in several fiscal years) it can be useful to check the box 'Show the login option screen'. During the start of MKG, these users are presented with a dialog that asks which administration and in which fiscal year must be logged in. In the screen below, this setting is checked for an MKG user.
