Why Use Shop Floor in Production

Using the Shop Floor functionality, you can let your employees clock hours on all your direct and indirect operations. Essential for a reliable subsequent calculation. In the webinar 'Why Use Shop Floor in Production' we will introduce you to the MKG Shop Floor. You will not only see how to set up in MKG and what you should pay attention to, but also how the smart client works, or the interface on the work floor. This webinar serves as an introduction and shows you the benefits of working with the Shop Floor.

Why Use Shop Floor in Production

Good information provision leads to less delays between work preparation and production. By controlling the work floor with up-to-date information, every production employee can see at a glance what needs to be done or can be done. The Shop Floor is a complete workplace for the work floor. You will gain insight into planned work per machine, the availability of the material and how to justify the hours. In addition, you can specify quantities, rejections and comments.

Who is this webinar intended for?

The MKG Shop Floor is suitable for all MKG3 and MKG5 customers. If you are not yet working with the Shop Floor, for example because you do not register hours or because you still enter the hours manually via time sheets, then working with the Shop Floor may be interesting for you. This webinar is therefore specially intended for those who have little or no knowledge of the MKG Shop Floor.

Set up the Shop Floor

To implement the technical setup of the Shop Floor, you basically only need two components: an MKG environment where the API runs and an installed smart client.

Setting up Shop Floor (1): technical

The functional design of the Shop Floor always takes place in the MKG client. This applies to the settings as well as the layout and displays of the screens, as they should be displayed via the smart client.

Setting up Shop Floor (2): functional

Setting up the Shop Floor screens

After the technical and functional setup has been carried out, you can provide each Shop Floor terminal with its own layout. Create one for each terminal. You set up all components for the layout and displays of the screens, as they should be displayed on the terminal(s) via the smart client, in the MKG client. This includes the order and labels of tiles as well as views and searches.

Using the Smart Client

The smart client is the interface of the MKG Shop Floor. This technology makes it possible to operate the Shop Floor on a terminal on the work floor, on a tablet or on a smartphone. This way, production employees can easily clock their hours based on the orders they are working on. The real-time information is always up to date, making reliable information available anywhere and anytime.
