The factory at the Theme Square is a live setup, similar to what can be found in a real manufacturing company. This involves order intake, tools, an AGV, integration with machines, robot cells, and all related software. In addition to MKG, Bendertechniek, Cellro, DMG Mori, HEIDENHAIN, Hoffmann Group, Laagland, Renishaw, and SupplyDrive participated in the project. The basic steps are robotizing, automating, digitizing, and integrating logistics. The participating partners each contributed a step.
A unique project. Not only is there a real factory at a trade fair, but also competitors collaborating. In a modern production environment, cooperation is essential. Such a square does not come to life if you do not see the bigger picture. You need to transcend your own interests, just like in the business world. Data is crucial nowadays, especially in terms of production automation. Data is collected on the square and linked to the ERP system. The partners aim to demonstrate that the process can be completed without manually adding data. In simple terms: the data goes into the process, hands-off, and a ready-made product comes out at the end. All machines and systems communicate with each other. And understand each other.
Within the Production Automation Theme Square, MKG provided automated order processing. Visitors created an order in the MKG ERP software to then see the power of data integrations through an AR headset. Not only real-time insight into the current order through smart integrations with machines and other production tools, but also insight into planning via the Shop Floor module. This fully integrated order planning automatically links hours with completion reporting. No more manual time registration. And thanks to the digital work instruction on the Shop Floor, paper is unnecessary. The signing of the delivery note - which is automatically linked to the delivery note in the ERP system - is done digitally. In this way, MKG allowed visitors to experience how to achieve a more efficient work process with fully automated order processing. No longer executing, but supervising.
Therefore, the MKG ERP software enables data to be shared throughout the entire factory. Henk Abbring, MKG's director: "This allows us to see if everything has gone as it should, without the need for human intervention. We provide a digital factory and thus the administrative beating heart of a company. Our mission is to make companies excel. This is only possible through cooperation and proper integration. We can present and shape this on the Theme Square. This square is tailor-made for us, as this is what we deal with daily. It is no coincidence that we are Smart Industry Ambassadors in the Smart Industry Fieldlab 'Smart Connected Supplier Network' (SCSN), which aims to strengthen the Dutch manufacturing industry and realize the digital factory. Together at the TechniShow, we present a clear story that is relevant to the entire manufacturing industry."
The TechniShow Trade Fair 2024 took place from March 12 to 15 at the Jaarbeurs, Utrecht.
