Installation MKG Smart Client

By clicking the 'Download' button, you start the setup of the MKG Smart Client, which will install the file MKGSmartClientSetup.exe on your system. Open this file and close all other applications before starting the installation. After installation, "MKG Smart Client" will appear as a shortcut on the desktop.

Explanation of the installation

Step 1. Start the installation wizard

The file MKGSmartClientSetup.exe is usually found in the 'Downloads' folder. Start the installation wizard and click Next.

Step 2. Installation options

For now, choose the option 'Only for me'. This is necessary for automatic updates to proceed smoothly. Click Next.

Step 3. Completion

The MKG Smart Client is now installed. There is now a shortcut on your desktop to start it. Close the installation wizard with Finish. Check the box 'Start MKG Smart Client' if you want to start the MKG Smart Client immediately.

Step 4. Smart Client settings

The MKG Smart Client is installed. You now see the screen below. First choose Open settings to adjust the Smart Client to the environment where it should run before you can log in with a username and password.

The automation of the settings in the MKG Smart Client can be implemented through a central config.ini file. This config.ini file can fill the values from the MKG Smart Client:

1. Hostname
2. Port number
3. API key
4. Use SSL
5. Stay logged in
6. Password required when logging out/closing
7. Shop Floor kiosk mode

You can define the above values in the central location %AppData%\Roaming\MKGSmartClient\ by supplementing the file with the following values:

This should of course be implemented on every workstation where the MKG Smart Client is installed.
