How do the calendar settings work in the Activities module?
In the Activities module, you can customize the calendar view to suit your preferences. This way, you can align the presentation of activities with your needs. By right-clicking anywhere in your schedule, you will see 'Calendar settings', with various options listed below.
Navigation
The top 2 settings pertain to navigation within your schedule. This gives you the option to add extra bars to your view.
- Date navigation
You can display a year overview on the left or right side of the screen. The width of this window is adjustable, so set up your screen in a way that works for you. This way, you can easily keep track of the coming months. - Range navigation
This provides an extra timeline that is added above or below the schedule. By default, it shows the current day/week/month plus the one before and after in a time window. If you are using the month view, you can display more or fewer weeks by making the white part of the bar (i.e., the current range) larger or smaller. By dragging the entire range, you can quickly move to another period. This option works for all calendar views except the year view.
Printing
In certain situations, it is useful to print your schedule. This can be quickly and easily arranged via the calendar settings. You have 2 printing options:
- Print preview
This opens an overview of the months in which the selected weeks in the schedule fall. You can then easily print these. Each month is printed on a separate A4 sheet. - Print
The current calendar overview, with the same layout as the print preview, is sent directly to the default printer and printed. No preview is opened first.
Properties
By clicking on 'Properties', a pop-up window with 4 tabs and many different options appears. This allows you to set the calendar precisely.
- Tab 'Data'
Here, you can adjust the values of certain fields according to your own insight. The Group by field, for example, determines the order of activities that occur on the same day. And with the Subject, Description, and Tooltip fields, you can display more details of the activity. This can be for one field, but also for multiple if you add a formula. - Tab 'Options'
Here, you edit settings related to time, items, and groups, and you choose the number of days in the calendar view.- Section 'Time'
- Interval: Number of minutes after which the schedule is refreshed.
- Start work time: The standard start time of the workday.
- End work time: The standard end time of the workday.
- Show only work times: Only the entered work times are shown, and activities can only be scheduled within these times.
- Show weekends as gray: In the calendar, weekend days are colored gray for recognition.
- Show holidays as gray: In the calendar, holidays are colored gray for recognition.
- Section 'Items'
- Adjust height to content: Extra text from the external memo field is shown in the schedule.
- Time: Which time should be visible.
- Show time as: The way the time is displayed.
- Selection line thickness: When an activity in the schedule is selected/clicked, it gets a frame. With this option, the line thickness of that frame can be adjusted.
- Section 'Group'
- Merge: Whether you merge groups or not. For example, if you group by users, you see all users next to each other if you uncheck this option.
- Show title: Choose whether the title of the group is displayed or not.
- Show color: Choose whether the color of the group is displayed or not.
- Section 'Time'
- Tab 'Colors'
You can use colors to indicate the different characteristics of an activity, such as the status, in the schedule. For example: If the activity has the status 'In progress', the entire bar in the schedule is colored yellow. If the status is 'Completed', this activity is colored green. It is possible to add extra rules and adjust the colors to your liking. - Tab 'Statuses'
The priority of an activity determines which color the activity gets in the schedule (at the front of the bar visible on the day). It is possible to adjust the colors to your liking. By default: red for high priority, yellow for normal priority, and green for low priority.

Screen layout
Through the calendar settings, you can customize the layout of your screen according to your own insight.
- Search
The filter bar that is standard at the top of the schedule can also be moved to the left, right, or bottom of the screen. Additionally, you can hide the bar. - Detail
The details of the activity are standard on the right side of the screen. However, you have the option to adjust the location so that the details are displayed at the top, bottom, or left. Additionally, you can hide the detail screen or open it as a pop-out. - Presentation
Also through the calendar settings, you can adjust the display of the calendar, for example, to the week view or the day view. - Restore default view
If you are not satisfied with the way your screen is laid out or are stuck, you can always restore the activity calendar to the default view. Note: unsaved changes will be lost.
