How to Organize the Workable Days and Hours
In the BCO Administration table you set the workable hours, i.e. the total number of hours an employee could work in a whole year. You determine the number of working days, vacation days, ADV days, public holidays and illness and leave days per period. Filling in the workable days and hours is part of a step-by-step plan to set up BCO. This article describes step 2. |
- Working Days (= paid): the regular capacity (in days) resulting from calendar days minus Saturdays and Sundays, divided over the periods of the year.
- Vacation Days: divided over the periods according to the collective labor agreement (think of the peaks in August and December).
- ADV Days: you can make the distribution over the periods according to the collective labor agreement and your company agenda. This can be found in MKG under the hourly budgets.
- Public Holidays: according to the annual calendar you can take legal public holidays into account and enter them in the relevant periods (only enter the weekday holidays).
- Illness/Special Leave (SL)/Other: this is an estimate; based on experience from previous years, this can be increased for the different periods (in the example, the average of 6.4 illness days is taken). An hourly analysis from last year can be consulted in MKG for this purpose.
- Net Working Days: working days (= paid) minus the holidays, ADV days, public holidays and illness and/or other leave days.
- Hours per Day: this follows from the shift type. For a working week of 40 hours this is 8 hours per day, for a 38-hour working week this is 7.6 hours. This can be found in MKG at the day schedule.
On the right side you will find the totals with a conversion from days to hours. With a total of 2,080 working hours to be paid minus the non-productive days (holidays, illness, etc.) you arrive at a total number of net working hours of 1,624. This can also be found at the bottom left of the table with the return on your hours.
