MKG locally or in the cloud?

To use MKG's ERP software you need a server. This requires periodic management, such as ensuring backups and installing updates. This can be done locally in-house, but you can also outsource the management. In this article we compare three available options.

The dependence on an accessible ERP package is only increasing in today's company. With current technologies, there are three options for MKG5: the MKG Cloud, local and the private cloud. MKG3 is only available on the MKG Cloud.

Cloud services can increase the availability of the application and at the same time relieve you in this area. Not every ERP supplier has optimized its software architecture for cloud technologies. MKG considers availability and management to be of great importance and has taken this fully into account when building the application.

Support costs

These may be lower. MKG employees have faster and easier secure access to the customer environment through Support (MKG Helpdesk, reporting and dashboard issues).

For external support (MKG Helpdesk, reporting and dashboard issues), the customer must provide MKG with secure access each time or provide a recent customer database.

What is cheaper?

You will have to make all current visible and invisible cost components transparent and add them up. In fact, in the cloud you pay for availability and security and you no longer have to worry about uptime, updates, maintenance and the scalability of your infrastructure. A better question is: how much is this unburdening worth to me?

The most suitable solution?

Your own server or in the MKG Cloud? Unambiguous advice is not possible in this regard. A cloud solution is not a goal in itself. It is important that you choose an environment that best suits your business context. Do you want to know more? Have our Sales department call you about the possibilities.
