Items: Administration Settings

This article describes the administration settings on the 'Items' tab. On this tab you will find the general settings for items and the examples for Item Code, Search Name and Description.

The administration settings form the basis of MKG. From the numbering of orders to the flow of processes, everything is determined by the administration settings.

Search Name

The search name consists of a maximum of three positions. The order determines how the search name of an item should be constructed at ACM.

Description

The description consists of a maximum of five positions. The order determines how the description of an item should be structured.

Example

The item code cannot be edited and is constructed from the abbreviation of the formula, the material no. of the material stated in the Material Types

table and the size of the material, as specified in the ACM formula. An example is given of what an item code, search name and description will look like.

Settings

  • Item Code in caps. Checkbox to determine whether the item code is always presented in capital letters.
  • Item Search Name in caps. Checkbox to determine whether the item search name is always presented in capital letters.
  • Use Item Description in ACM. Checkbox to indicate whether MKG maintains the description of the item or whether the description is rebuilt using the relevant parameters.
  • Use Item Memo Texts in processes. Unchecked: the memo text is transferred from the sales process to the production order. Checked: the memo is removed from the item file.
  • Auto-update Net Price for ASP+CL. Checkbox that ensures the automatic updating of the actual settlement price for items with a Closed Lot Registration. If the item is not a purchase item, the cost price of the last production is taken into account.

Choices for settings are made and recorded during the implementation process. Changes in this can have far-reaching consequences. Therefore, only make changes under the guidance of an MKG consultant or the MKG Helpdesk. Authorization of the administration settings is recommended so that no unexpected changes can occur without the knowledge of the system administrator.
