By default, OneDrive is linked to the user folder on the C drive. OneDrive must be linked to the C drive. |
Relocate OneDrive
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Local Disk (C:).
- Create a new folder here named "OneDrive" (note: this is case-sensitive).
- Right-click on the OneDrive link on the left menu and select 'Settings'.
- Go to the 'Account' tab and remember the linked email address (e.g., "info@...").
- Then click on 'Unlink this PC' Unlink Account.
- The 'Set up OneDrive' pop-up window will appear. Enter the same email address that was visible on the 'Account' tab and click Sign in. In some cases, you will be asked for the password of the used email address. Keep it handy.
- After signing in, the 'Your OneDrive folder' screen will appear, showing the user folder where OneDrive is currently linked. Click on 'Change location'.
- Navigate to the previously created folder via Windows Explorer C:\OneDrive and click on Select Folder.
- The 'Your OneDrive folder' screen appears again, with the changed location. Click on Next.
- The screens 'Back up your folders', 'Get to know OneDrive', 'Share folders and files', 'All your files, ready to use and available on demand', and 'Download the mobile app' appear sequentially.
- The 'Your OneDrive is ready' screen appears. Click on Open my OneDrive folder. OneDrive is now synchronizing. OneDrive is then correctly linked to the C drive.
