Installation license with new license model

With the new license model, the License Maintenance module has also been introduced. In this manual, we explain how you can use license maintenance to assign licenses to the appropriate employees within your company.

 

 

 

 

How do you use the license maintenance?

In the Users module, the settings 'Show license warning' and 'May update license' must be checked for the user who needs to be able to install a license.




Upon logging into MKG, a notification appears that a license is ready to be installed. However, this notification can also be manually triggered in two ways:

  1. Click on the version number at the bottom right of your MKG session screen. The 'MKG Information' screen appears.

  1. Open the License Maintenance module and click on the Read License button.

Assigning installed license(s)

Once the license has been read, it must also be applied as desired.

 

MKG Office

  • Since the Office user license is not checked by name but by concurrently logged-in users, an adjustment to this license number is often not significant.
  • Employees who are allowed to log in must have a checkmark in the 'Officeuser' column. If this checkmark has been adjusted, you must click Save to apply the adjustment.
  • If more employees are checked to log in than there are MKG Office licenses, this does not trigger a notification. However, with a license for 10 MKG Office users, the 11th login in MKG will result in a notification that no further logins can be made.

 

MKG Office App

  • The assignment of a license for the MKG Office App is limited to the number of licenses purchased.
  • If a single license is purchased, this checkmark can only be set for one user.
  • The MKG Office App is an addition to an MKG Office license. Therefore, a user must also have a checkmark for 'MKG Office'.

 

MKG Shop Floor

  • For each employee who needs access to Shop Floor, an MKG Shop Floor license must be purchased.
  • Therefore, each employee requires a user, and this user must be assigned a Shop Floor license.
  • For MKG Office users, this license can also be checked. This is then limited to the number of MKG Office licenses purchased.

 



MKG Companies

  • For each administration, the license must also be activated. This is done in the 'MKG Companies' tab.
