General: Administration Settings

This article describes the administration settings on the 'General' tab. On this tab you will find the general settings and the standard settings for Project Numbering, Consolidation, Action List Data, List Data and Memo with Formatting.

The administration settings form the basis of MKG. From the numbering of orders to the course of processes, everything is determined by the administration settings.

General Settings

  • Administration Currency. The default currency of the chosen administration, to be selected from the Currency
table. This also means that the accounting is kept in this currency.
  • VAT Model. Selection field to indicate which model should be chosen for the VAT declaration: Dutch, German or Belgian.
  • Union Settlement active. Tick box to indicate whether the Union Settlement is active. This regulation applies to companies that supply private individuals abroad via e-commerce. If checked, in the Tax
module an extra tab will be active.
  • Unit. The default unit of the administration, to be selected from the Unities
table. In practice this will almost always be 'pieces'.
  • Language. The default language of the administration, to be selected from the Language Codes
    table.
  • First Day of the Week. Selection field to indicate on which day the working week starts, in connection with the week number determination.
  • Day of the week. When you adjust the week number in a date field, MKG enters the day in the week specified here.
  • Show Duration as. The time indication within MKG. For example, this affects the time entered during an operation.
  • Default Duration Input. The default unit for time entry.
  • Administration Text Colour. The text colour of the administration at the bottom left of the screen.
  • Administration Background Colour. The background colour of the administration at the bottom left of the screen.
  • Log out if of session inactive. The number of hours after which the session will end. Since version 73, it is possible for two users with one MKG Office licence to take over a session from each other. Read how it works here
  • Login with Windows User. Check box to adopt the Windows username when logging into MKG. Alternatively, the last locally logged in MKG user is displayed. In that case, make sure that the login name is the same as the Windows login name.
  • Round Duration to Minutes. Checkbox to round time to minutes instead of seconds. This automatically turns 'On' when you have turned off the seconds at 'Show Duration as'.
  • Take Public Holidays into account in Automatic Date Determination. If public holidays have to be taken into account, this option must be activated. For example, if the delivery date of a sales order line is set on a holiday, it will be moved to a later time. You enter public holidays in the Public Holidays
    table.
  • Take Weekends into account in Automatic Date Determination. Same operation as described above for public holidays. However, the determination of the weekend days is not based on the Public Holidays table, but on the annual calendar.

Project Numbering

  • Project no. length. Input field to specify the number of positions of the project number (maximum 8, minimum 3).
  • Manual. Check box to always enter the project number manually instead of automatically generated by MKG.
  • Auto-number adjustable. Check box to make it possible to adjust the automatic numbering.

Mask

A number is automatically constructed using a mask. Check the desired numbers that should be included in the project number. The order in which the masks are included in the project number can be entered behind the mask. Under 'Manual' the setting 'Auto-number adjustable' must be automatically checked.

  • Administration (3 positions). When checked, the first three positions are filled with the administration number.
  • Project Group (2 positions). When checked, the fourth and fifth positions are filled with the project group number.
  • Current no.. Last used project number. An automatic numbering will be performed. An example is also given of how a project number will look like.

Please note!
If you use a mask, 'Current no.' may not be entered.

Consolidation

  • Source Administrations. Possibility to consolidate (merge) separate financial statements into one joint, consolidated financial statement. Consolidated annual accounts show figures from a group of administrations as figures from one company. Source administrations must be entered comma-separated.

Action List Data

  • Data Limit on. Selection field to set a default data limit for action lists by number or by time. It is also possible to set no data limit for action lists.
  • Data Limit Quantity. The maximum value or time, depending on the choice at 'Data Limit on'.
  • Auto-refresh. If 'Yes' is selected, the first 100 records will be loaded automatically.

List Data

  • Data Limit on. Selection field to set a default data limit for lists by number or by time. It is also possible to set no data limit for lists.
  • Data Limit Quantity. The maximum value or time, depending on the choice at 'Data Limit on'.

Memo with Formatting

  • Use Memo met Formatting at External Memo Sales. If checked, the External Memo Sales field will be displayed with formatting in all modules where it appears (Sales Quotes, Sales Orders and Items).
  • Font (default = Tahoma). Determine the default font for the layout.
  • Font Size (default = 8). Determine the default font size for the layout.

Choices for settings are made and recorded during the implementation process. Changes in this can have far-reaching consequences. Therefore, only make changes under the guidance of an MKG consultant or the MKG Helpdesk. Authorization of the administration settings is recommended so that no unexpected changes can occur without the knowledge of the system administrator.
