How to Create an Optimal Screen Layout

Do you want to work in multiple modules on one screen at the same time? Switching between the modules via the menu bar can be annoying. However, in MKG you have several options to optimally arrange your screen. In this article you can read how.

Tab Groups

If you want to work in multiple modules on the same screen at the same time, you can. Select the last opened module at the top of the menu bar and right-click to open the options. Here, choose ‘New Vertical Tab Group’. This allows you to open multiple modules at the same time on one screen.

Right-click the module in the top menu bar again. After the first tab group has been created, the layout per tab group can also be determined by choosing ‘Move to Next/Previous Tab Group’.

Move to previous tab group

In this way it is possible to activate its own tab group for each module via the menu bar, further dividing the screen. In the example in the image, a vertical tab group has been chosen; If desired, it is also possible to create a horizontal tab group.

Undo? Move all modules to the same tab group until they are all shown one after the other on the menu bar again.

Open the Same Module Twice

Sometimes it can be useful to be able to compare data from the same module at a glance. For example, when assessing or comparing two bills of materials. With the right screen setting this is also possible:

  1. Make sure that the required module is available on your MKG Homepage.
  2. Hover your mouse over the tile on the MKG Homepage and wait until the icon with the 3 stripes becomes visible in the top left corner.
  3. Select the ‘Open in a new tab’ option. The module is now opened for the second time.

Second screen
Open the module you want to work in, for example Planning. After this is opened, another module can be opened, for example Production Orders. However, now the planning is no longer visible. This can be remedied by showing one of both modules on a second screen. This can be done very easily by dragging the module directly to a second screen. Undo? Drag the module back to the main screen.
